I preach the Bible most Sundays, cast vision for our church, lead our staff, connect with people, counsel, and oversee the doctrine, direction, and discipline in our church alongside the other elders of Mosaic Community.
I do what I do because God gave me a clear calling to plant a church in Joliet and pastor it. I can’t imagine doing anything else! I’m driven by a passion to see God radically transform lives in Joliet and beyond through the power of the gospel!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a language emphasis in Greek from Moody Bible Institute.
I married my wife Barbie when I was 21 and she was 20 back in 1995. Next to Jesus - she truly is God’s greatest gift to me! I’m so blessed to have 4 precious daughters with such fun, creative and loving personalities: Corinn, Kiera, Karis and Kendra.
My official name was: “Erk” until I realized it and had it changed at 21! The doctor wrote my name sloppy (combined the “i” and “c”) on my birth certificate.
Panang Curry (extra spicy) with chicken and wide rice noodles, Tom Ka soup, and a side of lychee fruit.
I LOVED breakdancing with my friends and before audiences!
I can talk like Donald Duck, out of both sides of my mouth - at the same time.
Gatlinburg Tennessee (in the midst of the Smokey Mountains) has a special place in my heart.
